Motorists warned of stop-and-go in Reynolds Street, Port Shepstone

The rehabilitation project is expected to be completed by the the end of April.

The Reynolds Street rehabilitation project in Port Shepstone is currently under way with a stop-and-go system and motorists are advised to be cautious.

“The stop-and-go will be implemented near Memorial Road as we start with the layer works close to the Department of Transport’s offices,” said the project’s community liaison officer, Apelele Ngwadla.

The project started last year and progressed slowly after damage to underground infrastructure. These included cables and water pipes that needed to be fixed before the project could go ahead as planned.

The completion date for the 11-month project at a cost of R48.9m is expected to be by the end of April.
Ray Nkonyeni Municipality spokesperson Simon April was contacted for further comment, however, none was received at the time of going to press.
