Teenager wins Chinese Grand Prix
It has been a frenetic start to the Formula 1 racing season.
We had another great race, full of entertainment and drama, in Shanghai, China last Sunday, with the star of the show being Kimi Antonelli.
At just 19 years-old he became not only the youngest driver to claim pole position in qualifying, but repeated this achievement to cross the finishing line in first place.
It was a wonderful effort and he showed great maturity, skill and tenacity for such a young man.
The other good news is the Prancing Horses are back in full force.
Lewis Hamilton made a superb start to lead the race and, with teammate Charles Leclerc, put consistent pressure on the early championship leader George Russell.
It took a while for Antonelli to take the lead, which he was then not to relinquish.
Russell soon filled the gap behind Antonelli as the Ferraris followed closely.
Hamilton held onto third place after a canny race, holding his accomplished teammate Leclerc back in fourth position.
They finished three seconds apart.
Oliver Bearman (Haas) was quick all weekend as was Pierre Gasly (Alpine), Liam Lawson (RB) and Isack Hadjar (Red Bull).
All four of them finished within 30 seconds of each other, taking position five to eight.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) had a poor start when his car got bogged down and he had to let at least 10 cars pass him before he could resume his chase of the leaders.
He made it to sixth place behind Bearman before his car gave up due to lack of power and he did not finish.
In ninth and tenth places were Carlos Sainz (Williams) and Franco Colapinto (Alpine).
Just outside the points was Nico Hulkenberg, giving us a good show in the Audi.
Both McLarens did not start due to unrelated technical issues with the engines.
The next race is Suzuka in Japan on March 29, with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia having been cancelled.
