The Gentry rocks Margate Village

It was a wonderful, if warm, evening.

Residents and locals flocked to the Margate Retirement Village recently to catch The Gentry perform a variety of hits from yesteryear.

This acclaimed band has been rocking KZN for years with their tight blend of fan favourites and hits going back to the ’60s.

Events coordinator for the Village, Bev Barker, welcomed everyone and introduced the band before allowing James Carlsen control of the mic.

The lead singer/guitarist belted out a range of foot-tapping tunes that kept the crowd entertained as they tucked into snacks and enjoyed a few refreshing beverages.

Princess Dube on vocals, Gavin Hughes on drums, and Brent Geldenhuys on bass backed up James, whose smooth voice, calm stage presence, and sweet acoustic guitar kept everyone entertained.

Bev especially thanked her ‘elves’ – a group that helped to beautify the tables and organise the décor – and Mary Morley whose decorations were crucial.
