Reshica Naicker (50) from Port Shepstone, a teacher, wife, and mother of Nihaal (16) and Vihaan (11), is a semi-finalist in the Mrs South Africa pageant.

“I believe that beauty starts from within and only enhances a woman’s physical appearance. I am of the belief that it is never too late for one to fulfil one’s dreams by taking a step forward irrespective of age, gender, colour, culture or creed. So here I am moving forward and taking a leap towards my dreams.”

As a Grade 2 teacher, Reshica finds great fulfilment in helping to mould the future. She is passionate about people development and empowering the younger generation, as she believes that they are key to building a better future for all South Africans.

“Mrs South Africa is a premier female empowerment platform, not just a beauty pageant, focusing on leadership and transformation. In keeping with my passion to develop and empower our youth, I teach modelling to young people between the ages of five and 26. I also host an annual event on the South Coast, Miss Hibiscus. Girls who enter are between the ages of 16 and 26. It’s not only a beauty pageant, but one with a rewarding purpose as they are involved in charity drives. All monies raised are donated to a charitable organisation. ”

One of Reshica’s proudest achievements was being crowned Mrs India South Africa in 2013. She used the title to help create awareness of children with disabilities, and helped raise funds for cancer patients in a drive held in Margate. Also, later the same year, she won the Mrs India Worldwide title in New Delhi.
Mrs SA finalists will be chosen in Johannesburg in July, with the crowning set for November.
