Man jailed for breaking into Mtwalume home
The case was investigated by Detective Constable Asanda Yeni.
Sthabiso Makoya Duma (37) was sentenced to three years’ jail time after he attempted to force himself into a woman’s home by breaking open the door at Mfazazane Area, Mtwalume on October 24, 2025.
The man was known to the woman (45).
She screamed for help and he fled. A case of malicious damage to property was opened for investigation at Saps Hibberdene.
On November 22, 2025 members of Hibberdene Task team acted on positive information and arrested Duma and charged him accordingly.
The matter was set down for trial on April 16 and he was successfully prosecuted in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court.
He was convicted and sentenced to a term of three years’ imprisonment. The case was investigated by Detective Constable Asanda Yeni.
