Port Shepstone karate stars shine in Durban

The event featured top Shotokan karate talent.

The talented karatekas of the Port Shepstone Karate Dojo delivered a masterclass in determination and skill at the recent Kanazawa Cup in Tongaat, Durban.

Representing their district with pride, these dedicated martial artists secured an impressive haul of trophies, reflecting the high standard of excellence nurtured at their local dojo. The event featured top Shotokan karate talent and local dojos. This prestigious annual tournament, honours Hirokazu Kanazawa, featured Kumite and Kata, with notable performances from young competitors like Leano Hlangabesa and Samuel Barnard.

Shihan Frank Moodley said he is proud of all the students. “Each competitor demonstrated exceptional technical prowess and the disciplined spirit synonymous with the Shotokan Karate-do International South Africa tradition. This remarkable achievement not only highlights the individual hard work of the learners but also cements Port Shepstone’s reputation as a powerhouse of karate talent within the region.”
