Matthew records 28th parkrun win

Representatives of seven different athletics clubs took part in the Uvongo parkrun.

FOR the 28th time in 42 parkrun appearances, Matthew Lindebaum (SM20-24) of South Coast Striders was first over the line in 18:33. Second man home was Fred Goodhead (JM15-17) of South Coast Striders 18:34 and third Evan van der Spuy (SM20-24) (Unattached) in 19:18.

Current standing in the men’s annual points competition: 1 Matthew Lindebaum 4099 points; 2 Andrew Spence 4000; 3 Mike Haupt 3370.

In the women’s race, first home was Caity Schlehmeyer (JW11-14) (Unattached) in 23:21; 2 Anrehet Jansen van Rensburg (JW15-17) (Unattached) in 23:29; 3 Megan Carlsson (SW25-29) (Unattached) in 28:10.

Current standing in the women’s annual points competition: 1 Sharon Gardner 3446 points; 2 Terri Burger 2967; 3 Wendy Low 2814.

Best age grade scores were Fred Goodhead (JM15-17), graded 72.71 percent for the time 18:34; Matthew Lindebaum (SM20-24) 70.26 percent for the time 18:33 and Andrew Spence (VM65-69) 69.14 percent for the time 24:57.

Last week there were 151 runners, of whom 20 were first timers and 40 recorded new personal bests.
