Feast after the famine at Tweni TC

Tish Roos is returning to Austria to coach.

IT was a real ‘feast after famine’ at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday when Justin Hinchliff provided a stunning array of eats, with there having been none the previous Saturday.

Dan Dimitriu was playing ‘miserable’ tennis according to him, but managed to make a comeback in the last set which helped to restore his confidence.

The Monday night men’s group held an enjoyable farewell braai for Tish Roos, who has returned to Austria to coach tennis there. A reminder that there will be a bring and braai after tennis this Saturday for all who would like to stay.

Anyone who is interested in playing league on a Sunday at 1pm is asked to let Raj Naganna know or to put their names on the list at the club. Men’s and women’s matches will be played first and mixed will be played later in the year.

Members are sorry to hear that Jill Badenhorst is incapacitated as far as tennis is concerned at the moment and wish her successful treatment for her knees and hip so that she can be back on the courts again soon. Have a happy birthday on Friday, Jill.

Raj Naganna celebrates his birthday on the 30th and best wishes go to him for continued ‘getting to every shot’ tennis during the coming year. Neil Rheeder is receiving treatment for his tendon injury and is also wished a speedy recovery.

Duties: Saturday, March 29 – George van der Merwe; April 5 – Elena Whateley.
