Youngsters bowled over

Prestigious national medals awaited the winners of this tournament.

THE South African U25 interprovincial bowls tournament started at Margate Bowling Club on Tuesday this week.

It is being organised by SASCOC and the Kingfisher Bowling Association, and finishes this Friday, April 4.

A total of 16 men’s and women’s teams from all over South Africa are taking part.

The tournament has been a boost for tourism on the coast.

Ugu South Coast Tourism CEO Justin Mackrory said tourism welcomed sports initiatives such as this.

“So, who said bowls is just an old man’s game? Here’s to a new generation of highly skilled bowlers,” said Mr Mackrory.

He added that all sporting codes were encouraged to make use of the wonderful facilities in the area.

This tournament was held under the auspices of Bowls South Africa and sponsored by Warwick Wealth.
