Fred breaks own record

It looks like the cooler weather is making the runners faster.

THE 47th Uvongo parkrun took place last Saturday. Fred Goodhead (JM15-17) of South Coast Striders, broke the record again, crossing the line in 18:13. Second was Lionel Berridge (SM25-29) in 20:39 and third Andrew Spence in 21:39. Current standing in the men’s annual points competition: 1 Matthew Lindebaum 4156 points; 2 Andrew Spence 4098; 3 Mike Haupt 3462.

Caity Schlehmeyer (JW11-14) was the first woman over the line in 23:34, followed by Theresa Kuhn (JW11-14) in 23:46 and Verae Kritzinger (JW15-17) in 24:05. Sharon Gardner leads the women’s competition with 3511 points; 2 Terri Burger 2966; 3 Wendy Low 2880.

Best age grade scores were achieved by Andrew Spence (VM65-69) 79.68 percent for the time 21:39; Fred Goodhead (JM15-17) 74.11 percent and Theresa Kuhn (JW11-14) was graded 69.99 percent.
