Nice win for Sheppie’s hockey men
The game flowed, with a lot of attacking and defending runs.
SHEPPIE women hockey players took on Gryphons, the newly formed Westville/Pinetown club last Saturday and while the game took a few minutes to settle, it flowed with a lot of attacking and defending runs.
Gryphons scored a field goal in the first half. The second goal came from a short corner in the second half and a third and final goal came late in the second half to end the match. While it was disappointing to go down 3-0, it was an enjoyable contest. Player of the match was awarded to Kelly Rothman.
Meanwhile the men took on Thomas More on Sunday and with only 10 men on the park, it was a hard game. Experience is always what it is about, and at the end of the match, thanks to Gareth Bishop’s two goals and Warren Nel’s goal, Sheppie finished 3-1 up.
