AGM approaches for Uvongo

THE 63rd annual general meeting of the Uvongo Tennis Club will be held at the club on Saturday, August 30 at 1.30pm.
All members are requested to attend. Should you have any item you wish to have added to the agenda, a copy appears on the notice board and you are required to submit your request, in writing, to either Betty or a committee member by no later than Friday, August 22.
Social tennis will be played after the AGM with a bring and share braai to follow. We look forward to seeing you there!

It was great to have Truna Burgers back playing after breaking some bones in her right hand. Lorna Taylor is still recovering from her shoulder injury but should be playing in the near future.

Rain scares players away

WITH rain threatening last Saturday, there were not many at Umtentweni Tennis Club, but those who braved the elements enjoyed the afternoon.
In the Southern Counties’ Friendly League, Tweni played against Douglas Mitchell 1 last Sunday and were victorious in a closely-contested match by 52 to 48. Well played to our team and bad luck to DM 1.
