BOA KuluCrete’s Samantha qualifies at nationals

She entered eight events and qualified in the top 16 for the semi-final.

THIS year, only one Blue Ocean Aquatics (BOA) KuluCrete swimmer entered the recent SA Short Course Nationals held in Pietermaritzburg. Samantha Labuschagne (15) entered for eight events and qualified in the top 16 for the semi-final, ending 13th in the 100m freestyle and 12th overall in the 50m freestyle.

It was an extremely tough finish because this particular short course is to be utilised for the World Short Course Championships’ qualifying times. The championships are scheduled for later this year in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Coach Mandy Koegelenberg is exceptionally pleased with the results and is in the process of prepping a number of club swimmers for the 2015 SA Short Course Nationals.
