Important AGM for Uvongo TC

UVONGO Tennis Club’s 63rd annual general meeting will take place at the club this Saturday, August 30 at 1.30pm.
To continue the successful running of the club it is important that members attend.
All information pertaining to the afternoon’s programme of events can be found on the notice board.
Welcome to new members Lloyd and Vanessa Johnson and Giules Salattolo.
Due to ill health Thys Badenhorst has decided he will not be able to return to the courts. Members are sorry to hear this as Thys has been a member for many years.
He and his wife Ella are wished well and it is hoped that they will pop in for a chat and a cup of tea when they are in the area.
Chairman, Jan Visser, has returned from his time in Cape Town and members are pleased to hear that the cardiac medical procedure he underwent was successful.

WINDY weather is to be expected in the month of August but gale-force winds are not too good for tennis!
It was a case of ‘guess where the ball will land’ at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday and the wind was very often the winner.
Delicious cakes and your scribe’s favourite Chelsea buns helped players to forget about the cold wind, thanks to Elena Whateley.
Visitors are welcome on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from about 2pm onwards and beginners can arrange for coaching with Julia Christiansen or Keagan van der Merwe.
Saturday duty: August 30 – Raj Naganna; September 6 – George van der Merwe.
