Lady Captain’s team triumphs
MARGATE Country Club hosted the Lady Captain vs Lady Vice Captain at the club last Tuesday.
The captain’s team prevailed on the day.
Best individual score was returned by Margaret Ford on 39 points, with Rina Rito next on 38 points and Anita Scheepers on 36 points.

THE Wilkinson Cup at Port Shepstone Country Club last Thursday was won by Gloria Lundie on 37 points.
In second place was Sue van den Berg on 36 points, followed by Joan Shanks and Cecelia Verster on 34 points.
Last Thursday’s comp was won by Thys le Roux and Paul Geoffery on 48 points, on a countout from Altaaf Bux and Ganes Munsami. One further behind were Pete Stoppel and Greg Hornby on 47 points.
Saturday’s comp was won by Tony Fairbairn and Mark Smith on 49 points, two clear of Abel Yeeranna and Roly Shaw and three ahead of Niel Retief and Christo van Vuuren 46 points.

Barclay and co win

BARCLAY Shearer, Steven Bird, Doug Butcher and Graham Taylor won last Wednesday’s comp at Southbroom Golf Club on 93 points, with Art Germs, Roel Germs, Colin Steyn and George Haswell in second on 91 points. In third place were Dudley Simmonds, Gordon Moody, Jim Cook and Richard Derman on 89 points.
The women’s section was won by Kate Clarence, Di Morris, Joy Crutchfield and Jan Humphrey on 93 points.
Saturday’s comp was won on 43 points by Malcolm Moorley. Art Germs had 41 points, while Jim Cook, Rob Meydell and Jason Ackerman all had 39 points. Roger Deacon had two two-clubs.
The women’s comp was shortened to nine holes due to the weather and won by Jackie van Eeden on 22 points. Yvonne Janvier was next on 20 points and Lorraine Cook third on 19 points.

THE Southern KZN Open will be played at Port Shepstone CC on Sunday, November 2 over 36 holes. Cost to enter is R200. A division 0 to 9 and B division (Stableford) 10 and up.
