Muddy good ride for charity
Bikers endured windy weather to raise funds for a local charity.
THE grounds of the Izotsha Lutheran Church revved to the sound of the Imbuzi South Coast Hospice Enduro last Saturday.
Sandy Danckwerts, one of the organisers, said that the atmosphere at the beginning of the ride was one of anticipation, with 111 bikers gathering for the strenuous 40km, 25km and 5km journeys that lay ahead.
“The riders are here for the wonderful experience, and to help raise money for the reopening of Kingfisher House at South Coast Hospice,” she added. A whopping sum of R20 754 was raised from this event.
A significant contribution to this sum came from the prize-giving ceremony at Douglas Mitchell grounds where Louis Boshoff hosted an auction and local businessman, Ryan Pretorius bid more than R2 000 for a high pressure cleaner.
Event organisers and supporters are thanked for making the event such an outstanding success.
