A GOOD mixed fours tournament over the weekend culminated in a ding-dong ‘Battle at The Bell’ for the top honours being fought between two Bell teams.
The eventual winners, on a measure on the last end, were Duncan Randall and his team consisting of Margie Randall and Desiree and Barry Krause.
Runners-up were Barry Delvin, Daphne Sapsford, Mada Lindeque and Charles Murgatroyd.
Third place went to Annette Payne, Trevor Heywood, Eileen Abel and Danny McCarthy from Margate Bowling Club and fourth to Steve Doran, Astrid Jackson, Tony Aveyard and Tamara Gibbons from Umtentweni.

THE Indulgence Spa mixed pairs were won by Dan and Hazel Delaney, from runners-up Tony and Val Smith.

THE 2-4-2 competition sponsored by Fruit and Veg was won by Margie Randall and Eugene Perrins.
In second place were Daphne Sapsford and Peter Griblin, with Jacques Snyman and Sheenagh Dempster in third place.
The sponsored mixed trips will be played this Friday, November 28.
There will be a braai after tabs in on Sunday, November 30.
MARGATE CC
RASSIE Erasmus, Chrissie Chancellor and Chris Abram came away winners of the Shelly Beach SuperSpar mixed trips as the only team with four points.
Their score was 4+8. Two teams got three points, but the runners-up were Gary Hess, Arthur Orr and Eula Greer with a score of 3+3.
Session winners were Olwen Gibbs, Bruce Coldwells and Jannie van der Nest. Barry Herbert won the 50/50 draw.
The Hair Shoppe women’s fours will be this Friday, November 28.
The final men’s fours game is on December 12, with the year’s prizes.

WINNERS of Wingnuts Plumbing mixed 2-4-2 were Hans Herrmann and Nora Hills, followed by Hein Bester and Rosemary Esterhuysen.
Sessions went to John Sutton and Betty Bolton and to Denzil Massyn and Marie Momple. Denzil also won the 50/50.
The Martin Electronics men’s 2-4-2 was won by Neels Boshoff and Phillip Lotter followed by Denzil Massyn and Chris Abrams.
Sessions went to Roy Robertson and Ivan Hosken and to Bill Brown and Barry Herbert. Neels also won the 50/50.
Don’t forget your donations for the Christmas hampers. The draw will be held at the Christmas lunch on December 7.

WELL done to Athol Robertson, Dieter Scholtz and Shane Nienaber on winning the Tiago’s open trips last Tuesday.

THE Banners Rest mixed trips was won by Maureen La Grange, Peter Ziervogel and Andreas van der Linde, with runners-up Leigh Warner, Jenny Rennie and Ann McAllister.
Second session was won by Sergio and Pat Ruperto with Lesley Ott, and the 50/50 board went to Esme Snyman.
The Banners Rest mixed pairs winners were Chris Forward and Pat Miller, runners-up John Keppler and Trish Steyn, and second session Val Smith and Sergio Ruperto. The 50/50 board went to Sergio Ruperto.
Next sponsored competition is the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs on Sunday November 30.

THE 11th round of the popular Business Challenge was held last Friday and sponsored by Pat Symcox of Re/Max Coast and Country.

THE club played host to two sections of the KBA mixed fours last weekend. There was some very good bowls played with Barry Delvin’s The Bell team qualifying for the semi-finals.
The weekly mixed drawn trips last Friday was won by Arthur Seager, Louise Snyman and Helene Oosthuizen. Second prize, which was on the toss of a coin, went to Norman Aiston, Hana Svoboda and Pauline Howle.
Session prize was awarded to Roger Burwood, Maureen Vermaak and Francis Raymond. Thanks to the Cutting Edge and Wimpy for their generous sponsorships.
The drawn mixed trips this Friday afternoon at 2pm is sponsored by the Jolly Roger.

THE Mooirivier Brokers’ open 2-4-2 will be played tomorrow afternoon (Friday).
Winners of the Hopden’s Spar women’s 2-4-2 played on Friday were Ann Waugh and Sandy Jeffrey on 4+22.
Runners-up:were Kobie Stander and Winnie Hess on 4+14. Session went to Mal Moni and Gae Gravell on 2+6
The winners of the Martin Electronics comp were Merle MacLarty, Mannie Rodriques and Bryan Smallberger on 10+17 (won on countback).
Runners-up were Athol Robertson, Eric Chamier and Yvonne Bausek on 10+17.
Sportsman’s prize went to Trevor Heywood, Treasure Philpott and Kate Stewart.
The winners of the Uvongo Spar vouchers were Ernie Southward, Jimmy Johnson, Sharon Scheinberg and Ken MacLarty on 10+6.
The ‘Toys for Joy’ evening was a huge success with hundreds of toys being donated for distribution to underprivileged children.
The jumble sale will be held in the clubhouse this Friday and Saturday.
Sunday morning bowls is played in mufti.
