PORT EDWARD
THE weekend kicked off with twilight bowls last Friday, which was well supported and most enjoyable. Members may play bounce games or just practise on their own.
The quiz evening took place after tabs on Saturday. This event was lively as usual and the Smithsonians from Munster and Banner’s Bullets proved to be too smart for the Port Edward teams!
The busy weekend continued on Sunday as Barry’s Business Bowls Day filled the green with 48 non-bowlers displaying considerable skill.

The Indulgence mixed trips last Thursday was won by Barry Payn, Rob Lyle and Phillipa Rowney.
Runners-up were George Snyman, Frank Foley and Eve Gower. The session prize was won by Fanie Koekemoer, Francien van der Merwe and Mike Gower.

RIVERSIDE
THE next sponsored competition is the Cupboard Value open trips on January 7. Kitchen duty – Sandy Ferguson and Linda Hansell.
Riverside is presenting a Christmas Pantomine and three-course supper on Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20, starting at 6.30pm.

THE BELL
THE open trips, sponsored by the Venture Inn/Jaxx, was won by Phil Myburgh, Murray Ross and Howard Frizelle.
Second were Tickey and Denise Nel, with Dennis Graham. The session prize was won by Brian Rawlins, John Nadauld and Kevin Lancaster.
The Captains Anchor’s mixed fours was won by Maureen Head, Barbara Fernihough, Barry Krause and Phil Viljoen.
Second were Peet van Rooyen, Susan Fourie, Geoff and Tina Barbour. In third place were Duncan and Margie Randall, Stan Sackett and Desiree Krause.
Tabs in are played every Saturday and Wednesday afternoons. Casual bowls are played in the morning on Sundays and public holidays. All welcome.
SOUTHPORT
WINNERS of the South Coast Herald mixed 2-4-2 played on December 11 were Keith Mills and Tammy Gibbons.
Second place went to Jan Snyman and Sheenagh Dempster with Tom Semple and Sandy Shepherd winning the session prize.
The Dr D’Arcy men’s trips will be played today (Thursday, December 18) and the Serene Care mixed trips this Sunday (December 21).
The Harbour View SuperSpar women’s trip is on Tuesday, January 6.
SOUTHBROOM
ALL is quiet at the moment. Visitors, you are very welcome at our club during the holidays. If you have forgotten your bowls at home the club has a number of spare sets which can be borrowed.
Tough news this week was that Heather Roberts and Malcolm Milne had their bowls stolen from the boot of their car.
Heather’s were very precious as she had played world bowls competitions and won many accolades with them.
Also missing are a special measure and telescopic measure and her World Bowls cap.
MUNSTER
THE open trips sponsored by Dolphin Pub and Grill was won by Joe Ashworth, Leonie Booth and Ally Weir.
Runners-up were Aubrey Hood, Bob Francis and Steve Rennie, while second session went to Hedley Meek, Val Smith and Mike Gower.
The 7th Heaven men’s pairs was won by Mac Mackenzie and Arthur Ronaldson, with runners-up Tommie Dry and Martiens Zietsman.
Second session went to Leigh Warner and Dace Hume.
Tabs in on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1.30pm. Visitors welcome.

MARGATE BC
WINNERS of the Henry’s Butchery vouchers last Thursday were Franci Philpott, Piet Ferreira and Leza Edwards.
Winners of the Uvongo Spar vouchers last Saturday were John Richardson, Alan Dinning and Danny Terblanche.
The Hopden’s Spar vouchers last Thursday were won by Dora Vosloo and Helen Proctor on 4+15.
Runners-up were Sandy Davis and Trish Steyn on 4+12. Session prize went to Franci Philpott and Maureen Potgieter on 2+7.
The winner of the lucky draw was Shirley Heywood.
The next sponsored tournament is the Fruit & Veg men’s trips this Friday (December 19).
The Christmas lunch held on Sunday was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended.

Sunday morning bowls are played in mufti and everyone is welcome to come and join in a morning of fun, bowlers and non- bowlers are welcome.
Coaching is available for anyone interested in taking up the game of bowls, the only requirement is that flat soled shoes are worn.

HIBBERDENE
IN the monthly nominated mixed trips played last Wednesday, Malky McManus, Roger Burwood and Frances Raymond were declared winners.
Runners-up were Ann Matthysen, Pauline Howle and Lionel France. Session prize was won by Marie Coetzer, with Tabie and Maureen Jonker.
Sophia Cronje from Mooirivier Brokers awarded the prizes but before that she awarded Roger Burwood with a red card!
The monthly nominated mixed trips, sponsored by Hibberdene Pharmacy, was won by Keith Mills, Felicity van Rensburg and Tammy Gibbons.
Second place went to Jan Venter, Barbs Sates and Miriam Seager. Session prize was won by Bez Bezuidenhout, Hana Svoboda and Louise Shone.
Arthur Seager is wished a speedy recovery after his surgery on his left wrist/hand. Unfortunately he is left handed.
The Christmas dinner last Saturday was very successful and a big big thank you to all those who helped in the preparation beforehand and the excellent services provided in the evening.
The Jolly Roger Fun Pub drawn trips takes place tomorrow (Friday, December 19).
