Puren drifts to victory

It was a pretty good start for the Margate racer.

BRENDAN Puren from Margate competed in the Drift Mulisha Series in Richards Bay last Saturday.

It was his fifth time drifting but the first time competing in the Series and he clinched the win.

The weather was not ideal, but the rain eventually let up, allowing the drivers to compete.

Brendan battled his way though to the final, where he faced Joey Govender and, ultimately, was triumphant.

His brother Gavin has also had some rookie racing success this year, so the two are looking forward to competing in 2015.

David Nell was placed third and the driver of the day trophy went to Shain Ferreira.
