Helga, Rina shine at Nationals
The local players enjoyed the trip, and brought back a few trophies, too.
A TOTAL of 14 of the Senior Women golfers from the Lower South Coast played at the Nationals in Mpumalanga this year.
The local girls did very well. Helga Wepener won the 70+ age group (handicap 20 to 35) over 36 holes of Stableford golf.

Rina Rito was the runner-up in the 50-59 years old group (handicap 20 to 35). Rina was also in the team that won the first day alliance.
KwaZulu-Natal entered four teams, with South Coasters Anne Baldrey and Marie Robinson among winning teams.
For the local girls, goodies bags were sponsored by San Lameer Country Club, Status Panelbeaters handed out lovely towels and Holster Shoes gave them sweets. “Thank you to everyone,” said Linda Rybicki, the South Coast branch captain.
