Royal effort from Queen and Thamasanqa

The club thanked those who took part, and especially those who helped behind the scenes.

SOUTH Coast Striders held the 10km club championships recently, which turned out to be a great success.

The 10km race was won by Thamasanqa Qwabe in a time of 36 minutes and 17 seconds, while the women’s section was won by Queen Ngcungama in 47 minutes and three seconds.

The walking section was won by Hannes Streuderst and Moira King – they finished together in a time of one hour, 11 minutes and 38 seconds.

The 5km race was won by André van Schalkwyk in 25 minutes and 59 seconds, while the first female was 10 year-old Caitlin Ilsley in 43 minutes and 20 seconds.

André and Caitlin are both students at Samurai Study Centre, which sent all its pupils to take part.
