Petrol heads experience thrills at Wild Coast motorshow

The show had visitors entranced with a grand motoring spectacle.

SUPER cars, from classic to modern, car sound systems and drifting formed part of the sights and sounds at the Drift Expo at the Wild Coast Sun last Saturday. The reaction of those who attended the day’s festival were generally similar: “It was a one-of-a-kind motoring festival!”

The action-packed line-up thrilled families. Some of the country’s top drifters displayed their talents and the rubber-burning action got under way from early in the morning. David Nel, together with his fellow drifters, tore up the tar with high-speed tandem drift shows. Their antics went a leap further when they invited fans to step into the cockpit for a ride on the drift track.

While action on the track reached boiling point, the modified cars created a sensation of their own. The organisers said that they just loved what they created with the event. “It’s so cool to see so many families out there getting involved and having such a brilliant party time, whether it’s watching all the fabulous cars, dancing along to all the fab music or enjoying all the incredible drift cars,” said general manager of the Wild Coast Sun, Myan Moodley. “We have absolutely no idea what we’re going to do next year, but we will continue to raise the bar higher and higher.”
