Excitement at off-road fun ride
It's hoped that the event will become even bigger next year.
MANY dirt bikers tested their off-road skills during the Paddock County Ford Fun Ride held at a farm near Paddock on Sunday last week.
The organiser of the event, Angus Adie, welcomed all the excited riders, who arrived early with their dirt bikes and geared up for the fun ride. Riders from different age groups were all catered for, with experienced riders doing 25km, the inexperienced riders doing 10km and the children doing a three-and-a-half kilometre ‘pee wee’ ride.

Johan Nortje, taking part for the first time with his fiancée, said he was looking forward to the experience. Wade Young, the South Coast star who is the youngest-ever winner of the Roof of Africa Enduro, was also at the event, motivating and assisting the riders.
At the start of the race, some experienced riders took off with some crazy rides. For some bikers the ride, filled with twisting roads, slippery surfaces and constantly changing weather conditions, was quite exciting. Enthusiasm was written all over the faces of the ‘pee wee’ riders, whose main focus was on having extreme fun.

Spectators described the event as entertaining, saying that it was “out of this world” and applauding the organisers for the lovely experience. Mr Adie thanked everyone for attending the event and said he hoped the event would become major in the future.
