SEVEN swimmers from Blue Ocean Aquatics took part in the KZN Speedo Provincial Championships held in Durban last month.
All seven achieved at least a 70 percent improvement on their times in the various events. Samantha Labuschagne, Emma Kuhn and Michelle Kretzschmar all made finals in events.
Samantha came home with a gold medal in the 100m freestyle in a time of 58.74, and also earned bronze medals in the 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 50m freestyle.
Emma won a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and made the finals in her other seven swims.
Michelle made the final in all the backstroke events and placed even better in the finals compared to the morning heats.
Keytin Vorster was the most improved swimmer in the club, improving by 33.43 seconds in the various events and has qualified for level 3 but ages up before the national and regional meets in March.
