No ‘love’ from Chantelle and Colin

As always, there was a great vibe at the club.

DESPITE the threat of rain, the round robin at Umtentweni Tennis Club went ahead as scheduled last Saturday.

Pam Grobler is thanked for keeping the scores and providing the necessary sustenance in the form of cake, cheese scones (kaas gee krag!) and the evergreen favourite, egg sarmies.

The winners were Chantelle Donald and Colin Barker and the runners-up were Chloe Dutton and Dan Dimitriu.

Ron Stirling from Southbroom joined members for the afternoon and enjoyed playing on the Tweni courts. Southbroom is wished the best of luck in its endeavours to raise funds to re-surface its courts.

A big thank you to Sylvia D’Alton from the South Coast Herald for her patience and photo-shooting. It’s always a pleasure to have you at the club, Sylvia – hope you enjoyed your afternoon.

Thanks to Colin Barker for getting the fire going for the braai afterwards and also to all who contributed salads, breads and desserts.

Once again Chloe Dutton provided great music and those who stayed enjoyed socialising after the tournament.

Saturday duty: February 20 – Colin Barker; February 27 – Lynne Rorich.
