WATCH: Margate’s ‘super body’ Leon Kok can still do pull-ups with ease … at the age of 90
Leon Kok got a lovely surprise when staff from Superbodies organised a delicious birthday cake to wish him well for his 90th birthday.
MARGATE and Superbodies Gym’s oldest member, Leon Kok, celebrated his 90th birthday last Thursday, June 15.
He got a lovely surprise when staff from Superbodies organised a delicious birthday cake to wish him well for his nonagenarian celebration.
On most days this active gym member walks from his home in Manaba to gym, where he impressively weight trains and does a set (or three) of pull-ups. Some days he also goes for a swim in the tidal pool before walking back home.

Leon began his exercise routine at the old gym in Margate in 1975.

Born in 1927, Leon’s secret to a long life of happiness is pretty simple: strive to live a healthy, fit and busy life.
Another incredible achievement is his 66-year marriage to his wife, Kobie.

Leon attends gym five days a week at either the Margate Gym or Superbodies, Margate.
A former teacher of science and maths and a coach for swimming and athletics, Leon enjoys his visits to the gym.

His other interests include gardening and solving sudoku and cryptic crossword puzzles.
He loves the South Coast and thinks it is the ‘best place in the world’.
