Quintin is ‘on the ball’

His sharp eye and calm manner have made him the perfect person to handle rugby games.

RUGBY referee Quintin Janse van Rensburg of Margate has been selected to officiate at Craven Week at Grey College in Bloemfontein from July 9 to 14.

It’s one of the top national school tournaments in the country and so is quite an honour for him to be chosen.

Rugby runs very much in the family as Quintin’s cousin is former Bok flanker Marcell Coetzee, who will hopefully one day regain a place in the team when he overcomes some injuries and regains top form.

Quintin, who served as an assistant referee (known in the old days as a touch judge) during the Sharks XV SuperSport Challenge game at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground recently, is a senior HOD educator at Hibiscus Primary School.

Whistle man Quintin Janse van Rensburg.

It’s possible that may have to take a back seat one day as he continues to impress and get promoted in the rugby refereeing world.
