Free clinic for junior golfers at Southbroom

DEREK James will host a free junior clinic at Southbroom Golf Club on Sunday, July 16 at 3pm.

The women’s monthly medal last Wednesday was won by Jean Corfe on nett 68, by six from Eileen Neilson. In third was Irene Schanda on nett 76.
In the men’s section Norman Farrell took top honours on nett 72, counting out Vic Pretorius.
Tied for third on nett 73 were Dave Neilson and Howard Kelly.
Stableford winner was Paul Lawson on 36 points, with Stuart Janvier, Gerald Fitzgerald and Joe Carolan all carding 35 points.
Saturday’s competitions were sponsored by Casa Toscana.
Winners of the women’s comp were Jean Corfe and Julie Walker on 47 points, one ahead of Rene Matthew and Meryl Chambers.
In third spot on 46 points were Candida Amm and Margaret Sherratt.
Men’s winners were Cyprian Xolo and Garth Strong on 49 points, on a countout from Guy Yeadon and Casper.
Third spot went to Malcolm Greenland and John Whitnall on 48 points.
In club news, the next draw of the 100 Club will take place after the Chicken Run this Friday (30th) at about 6pm.
If you have not yet paid your annual contribution of R600 please do so post haste as you won’t want to miss out on the draw.
As usual the prizes are significant and please remember that the attendance prize can only be won if you are present at the draw.
