Fourth Southern Shoreline Challenge walk done and dusted

Each of the nine beach walks will be about 5km.

GREAT weather set the scene for enthusiastic walkers at the Southern Shoreline Challenge from Lucien Beach to Ramsgate Whale Deck last Sunday.

They were taking part in the fourth of the nine beach walks that make up the new Southern Shoreline Challenge.

The walks, each of them about 5km in length, will be held every second Sunday until September 17 and will cover the area from the Mzimkhulu River to the Umtamvuna River.

The first shoreline challenge, the brainchild of environmentalist Dave Hallé, was held in 2009 and saw challengers completing six walks from Hibberdene to Port Edward.

The proceeds were used for a number of worthy environmental projects. The next Shoreline Challenge takes place from Ramsgate Whale Deck to Marina Beach on July 23. For more photos click onto www.southcoastherald.co.za.
