Sports and Specials rev up for car show
The Scottburgh Classic Car Show has grown into an important annual motoring event.
MEMBERS of the Sports and Specials car group will join up with about 400 owners of pre-1975 cars and bikes when they converge on Scottburgh High School to take part in the eighth charity Scottburgh Classic Car Show this Sunday, July 16.
Locals interested in seeing the show are welcome to drive to Scottburgh with the Sports and Specials who will meet at Thompson Motors, Shelly Beach this Sunday, at 7.45am to leave at 8am sharp.

Autozone, Margate, has kindly loaned the car group some gazebos, so members exhibiting at the show can bring along hampers and chairs to enjoy a shady picnic.
The organisers of the car show, members of the Scottburgh Classic Car Club, will also offer plenty to eat and drink at the renowned Ilala Tea Garden.
This is a good spot from which to watch the various car and bike parades and all the laughter, glamour and the usual shenanigans that are part and parcel of the popular Fun and Fashion Parade.
Lucky entrance ticket prizes will be given out during the day. Prizes include a flight in a Microlight and a Tigermoth aircraft (weather permitting).
Gates open at 7.30am for classics and 9am for the public. The event finishes at 3pm. Admission is only R30 for adults and R10 for pensioners and schoolchildren.
Entrance for children under 12 is free. Follow the pointers from the N2 highway for free public parking. The show is sponsored by the Rising Sun community newspaper.
