THERE’S nothing like some relaxed family fishing fun on the South Coast during winter time.
The Umthunzi Hotel and Conference annual fishing competition, now in its third year, attracted around 80 entrants, many from Durban.
It involved some early morning angling off the rocks at Tweni beach, followed by a session at Darryl D’Arcy’s dam in the afternoon.
Overall winner was Zac Wyatt, who also picked up the prize for biggest junior fish, a shad of 32cm.
Tonya Keating won the senior largest fish with a 32cm mullet. Tora Keating won the prize for most fish caught (junior), a total of seven.
Jarred Borrageiro won the prize for most fish (senior), also a total of seven.
