Matat2Pont endure ride expected to be ‘bigger and better’
They're riding for fun, but also have charity in mind.
THE annual Matat2Pont attracted thousands of spectators and viewers of the live broadcasts on social media last year.
The event was founded by Dean Riley and Ben Scheepers in 2015.
To make it the awesome event it is today, they decided to bring the legendary Alfie Cox and fellow enthusiast, Sakkie Maartens on board.
They wanted to share their passion and excitement for the sport with other riders and expose them to some incredible routes.
They are also involved in a local community project called SHOES where the teams collect second-hand clothing and shoes for the underprivileged communities and distribute them along routes as well as promoting awareness for the charity.

The third annual Matat2Pont is a three-day adventure and enduro motorbike ride taking place from September 21-24 this year.
Starting in Matatiele and riding through the mountainous region of the Eastern Cape and Southern KwaZulu-Natal to Kokstad on the first day, riders are to expect exceptional riding with some challenging sections.
On day two the riders will start from Kokstad and head to Harding which will entail some undulating hills, valleys and river crossings with spectacular scenery.
Riders will begin the last leg from Harding and finish at The Pont in Port Edward on the Sunday (24th).
Heading down to the coast and through Bongwana, the teams can expect an adventurous and thrilling ride, finally ending off by crossing the Umtamvuna river over their infamous floating bridge.
This year promises to be even bigger and better than last year.
The interest from the riders has been phenomenal and they are really looking forward to giving the riders an amazing riding experience.
An entertainment marquee with live music and food stalls will be available at the finish site and the official prize giving ceremony will take place in the marquee at around 6pm.
