Rainy day golf: Take a leaf out of Page’s book

Some people love golf so much they'll play in any weather.

RAIN washed out most play at Southbroom Golf Club last week Saturday.

But believe it or not, one fourball did finish, namely Brian Jolliffe, Riaan Croucamp, Dave Page and Richard Derman.

Page has a reputation for this kind of stuff, so perhaps it’s not such a surprise! The worse it is, the more he seems to love it.

Andrew Civin and Roger Deacon were down from Joburg for the weekend, and took on the elements for six holes, along with David Rush.

Eventually it got too much, but Civin, ironically perhaps, did start to hit the ball very sweetly off the tee with a demo driver.

Wednesday’s golf was also rain-affected, but not that badly.

The men’s comp was won by Roger Hissey and Roy Deakins on 48 points.

In a tie for second place on 45 points were Rob Williams and Brian Brasher, as well as Norman Farrell and Don Osbourn.
