Shane shines but Paul gets the mug at Port Shepstone CC
The course has held up well after the rain.
Shane Gutzeit’s name was a surprise one on the results sheet of the Auto Exec monthly mug at Port Shepstone Country Club last Saturday.
With the SupaDrift Series racing over for the year, he’s had some time to get some golf in.
The tall left-hander ended up second in the A division on nett 71 off his (rather generous) eight handicap, being counted out by Greg Hornby.
In third place was Willem Lindeque on nett 72.
However, the mug prize went to musician Paul Geoffery who had 76 off his seven handicap. He has since been cut to a six. This was also the lowest gross on the day.
B division honours went to Rob Calder on nett 70, counting out Pete Govender. Fred van Zyl was one shot behind on nett 71.
In the C division, Louis Klopper won on nett 70, counting out Gary Vogt. Shaun Nathanson was next on nett 71.

The previous Wednesday’s winners were Kevin Loring and Doug Shepherd on 47 points, five ahead of James Coull and Brett Pollington.
In third place on 41 points were Ewald Ziervogel and Chris Boyce.
Top three in the Stableford section were Santhos Baskali on 39 points, followed by Jenny Hulley on 38 points, who counted out Yzelle Greyling.
