Sideways SupaDrift03 action entertains crowds at Dezzi South Coast Raceway

Drifters tore up the tar with a high-speed tandem drift show.

The motor sport of drifting, the goal of which is to control the car as it slides sideways around turns at full throttle, brings huge crowds to their feet.

That’s exactly what transpired at the Dezzi South Coast Raceway last Saturday, where some of the country’s top drifters displayed their talents and the rubber-burning action from very early in the morning for the Supadrift Series, Round 3.

Visitors watched the drifters tear up the tar with a high-speed tandem drift show.

Once again, the current series leader, Jason Webb, proved victorious, winning round 3.

As the tyres shrieked Jason jerked his convertible Ford Mustang sideways at over 100km/h on the race track.

Barriers were closing in on either side, leaving no room for mistakes.

As the next turn neared, Jason pumped the clutch and yanked a large hand brake.

The wheels locked, sending the car into a power slide, unleashing a torrent of smoke.

The move always causes spectators to scream in amazement!

This is what they came to see -drifting! And those precise and slick moves are exactly what helped Jason win.
