Vice-captain Don has the edge at Southbroom GC

The competition at Southbroom Golf Club last Wednesday was won by Dave Fox, André Steyn, Martin Hutton and Russel Mackenzie on 92 points.
All scores were to count on the 5th and 13th holes.

Runners-up on 89 points were Don Osbourn, Bob Clark, Paul Cole and Gerald FitzGerald, counting out Gordon Moody, Brian Hoggart, Bob Carmichael and Vernon Duggan.
It was time for the lady captain vs president’s competition last Saturday, which was won by the captain on 153 points to 144 points.
Best pair were Sandy FitzGerald and Lesley Godley on 41 points, one ahead of Allyson Thomas and Jill Webster.
The men’s saw the captain (Gerald FitzGerald) take on the vice-captain (Don Osbourn) in a team’s event, which the vice-captain won 6-5.
Best pair were Vernon Duggan and Peter Volck on 44 points, with Jim Cook and Chris Miller next on 43 points, tied with Alex Crawford and Jim Dimambro.
In fourth spot on 41 points were Andrew Leckie and Terry Sheppard, tied with Pierre van de Walle and Derek James.
Chicken Run results were as follows: Maurisio da Costa 21 points, Malcolm Greenland 20, Chris Miller 19, Wilhelm Steynberg, Colin McKay 18 and Nicky Smith 18.
