Warriors wrap up mini’s season

Overall, the boys have shown great character and commitment in producing some exciting, at times breathtaking, play and can be complimented on this.

The South Coast Warriors men’s team wrapped up another win, beating Toti 40-28 last Wednesday night.

It was arguably their toughest encounter so far this season in the First Division South league.
The second team did not have things all their own way, losing 24-22 after having a healthy lead at one stage.
Some interesting calls over conversion kicks probably didn’t help matters, but no doubt they will bounce back next game.

Man of the match awards went to Andromar du Toit and Gareth Pieterse (firsts) and Samkelo Ntshulane and Chad van Niekerk (seconds).
When it came to mini rugby, the youngsters travelled to Westville for the final round of the season.
The U11s went down narrowly to Crusaders, 12-7, which was their only league loss this season.
Some of their regular forwards were unavailable, but still, it was an almighty tussle and could have gone either way.

Overall, the team has had a superb season, winning six, drawing one and just the one very narrow loss against a very good side.
The U9s beat Westville, four tries to three but lost to Crusaders by five tries to two.
The U7s won one and drew one.
Overall, the boys have shown great character and commitment in producing some exciting, at times breathtaking, play and can be complimented on this.

Thanks were extended to various coaches – Chris Sharpe, Marko Sukkels, Dewald Jordaan, Francois Slippers and, of course, Niko and Shannon Potgieter.
