Kelly Gilliver wins 5-pin comp

Scottburgh golf club's latest news and results.

The OBS and Low Flyers went down well before and after the windswept game at Scottburgh Golf Club on Wednesday, just to keep warm, mind you.

‘E ba gum’ (Mugabe spelt backwards), as they say in England’s finest county, it was a bit ‘parky’.
Nonetheless, it took visitors Mike and Mark (surnames not known) from Umkomaas to show us how it’s done with 40 points in a betterball Stableford.

Local yokels Brian Richards and Tony Power managed 35 for second place.
Surprisingly, there were no two-clubs and the less said about the hidden holes the better.
It was the Gilliver show again on Friday for the 5-pin as daughter/sister Kelly came home for the weekend and promptly won a R200 voucher for first place.
Mikhail van Brakel managed second place and Jason Gilliver got third. Nice to see you back, Kelly.

The betterball was well supported on Saturday, sponsored by TM and Thay Govender.
Brian Richards and Tony Power carried on from where they left off on Wednesday with 40 points for a win.
There was a fourway count out for second and third places, with Org Viviers and Anton Visage getting the nod over Ian Walker and Graham Brown.

Once again, no two-clubs, but farmer Org dug up the hidden holes instead of potatoes.

The monthly medal on Saturday
Flyer’s footnote: In golf, as in anywhere else, rules are made for the guidance of wise men and the blind obedience of fools.
