Team Salt and Pepper ace it

Committee members of Umtentweni and Uvongo tennis clubs were thanked for hosting the fixtures.

Forty of the South Coast’s most avid tennis players descended upon Uvongo Tennis Club for the fifth and final leg of the Ugu 190s Team Challenge. The inaugural 190s has been driven by Sharon van der Schyff, president of the Ugu Tennis Association. It has proven to be an enormously popular and successful event.

After the five fixtures of keen competition, it all ended with a prize-giving braai.

A-section winners were Salt and Pepper, namely Renee Purtell, Richard Short, Tim Pearson and Sue Pearson.
Runners-up were Topspins, comprising Natasha Cotterell, Raj Naganna, Shauna Hudson and Darral Pillay/Trevor Pillay.

Ramsgate Rebels win the B division. They are (from left) Pauline Lee, Maxine Mackay-Coghill, Guy Spittal and Alan Hurlbatt.

Winners in the B section were Ramsgate Rebellion, namely Pauline Lee, Maxine Mackay-Coghill, Guy Spittall and Alan Hurlbatt. Runners-up were Young Dinosaurs, Dee Algie, Lynn Shell, Ralph Burls and Norman Davies.

Victorious Secrets captured the ‘Best Spirit’ award – Zelda Smook, Cheryse Wikstrom, Chantelle Donald, Bjorn Wikstrom and Lomon Rautenbach.

The event will be held on an annual basis.
