Five point par sees Bupen take win

The win entitles Bupen to compete in the Mug Winners' Cup.

Bupen Prakash’s 38 handicap has been snipped to 35 after a sterling performance at Pro-Vision’s ninth league match and final monthly mug for the season.

This was held recently at Port Shepstone Country Club, where Bupen carded 41 points, including a par on the stroke one (15th) for five points.

Some 39 players took to the course on a cold, windy morning.

Isibani Chartered Accountants and Auditors sponsored the day and provided some wonderful prizes.
The win entitles Bupen to compete in the Mug Winners’ Cup, which will be played, together with the final league match, at the Wild Coast Sun Country Club on Sunday, November 5.

Sbu Ntozakhe, currently number one in the A division in league standings, scored 40 points to count out Santhos Baskali and Morris Moodley, who had to settle for third and fourth places respectively.
Completing the top five was Sew Ghingai on 39 points.

Morris is currently the overall log leader and number one in the B division.
Best gross was secured by Robert Mavundla on 74 and best nett went to Bupen Prakash on 67.

* Looking ahead, the eagerly anticipated Liverpool vs Manchester United Supporters’ Golf Challenge will be played at Port Shepstone Country Club on Sunday, October 22.
This will be sponsored by Wesley Scholtz of WZO Towing.
Lunch will be sponsored by Dr Kanaya Maharaj of Connor Med.
It will be in memory of Pete Stoppel and Liverpool players are confident that they will retain the trophy.
Neutrals can join either team. This is an open tournament and players are asked to confirm their intent to play with either captain.
