John Ford does not seem to age, or at least his golf swing doesn’t.
In the Saturday’s competition at Margate Country Club, he won the day on 42 points.
This was excellent golf for John, who, at 85 matched his age with a score of 85.
He is now playing off a 22.4 handicap index, having been cut a little.
Earlier in the week John featured in the winning three-ball of the Wednesday Wobblers competition, where he scored 89.
Runner-up on Saturday was Johann Erasmus on 39 points.
Two-clubs were carded by Craig Rademan (16th), Daniel Muller (2nd), Colin Penny (4th).
Nearest the pins were Colin Penny (4th and 11th).
Flip Fourie won the 100-Club at Margate Country Club last Tuesday on 33 points, counting out Kim Howden in the process.
Two-clubs were carded by Kevin Oxenham and Richard Egerton.
In the ladies’ competition, winners on 62 points were Connie McArthur and Wondra Bothma, counting out Sandi Johnston and Agnes Spielmann.
The meat competition last Friday was won by Angus McLachlan on 35 points, with Kim Howden next on 33 points.
Nearest the pins were Sandi Johnston (2nd) and Flip Fourie (16th).
The business day last Friday was won by Kim Howden, Dawn Howden, Angus McLachlan and Des Potts on 97 points.
Runners-up were Piet Fourie, Deon Meyer, Jaco van der Wal and Johan Neethling on 86 points.
Nearest the pins were Angus McLachlan (4th) and Conrad Boonzaier (11th).
Two-clubs went to Johan Human (2nd), Sandi Johnston (2nd) and Angus McLachlan (8th).
The Wednesday Wobblers’ game was won by John Ford (as previously mentioned), along with Brian Jefferys and André Henn on 77 points.
Runners-up were Johan Human, Eddie Gomersall and Frank Merrill on 74 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Bob Weanie, Thys Bothma and Hans Dallinger on 59 points.
