League triumph for Sheppie

It's been a busy time for the club.

Port Shepstone Country Club won the South Coast Region Ladies’ Golf Association league for 2024.

They wrapped things up at Umkomaas last Sunday, playing some superb golf to win the trophy by a comfortable six points.

It was a wonderful effort from the six who played, as well as others who represented the team during the season.

The team that played at Umkomaas comprised Yzelle Greyling, Jenny Hulley, Jennifer Duncan, Natasha Cotterell, Cecelia Verster and Sandi Burger.

Back home, the ladies played foursomes for the Frans Suzanne trophy, won by Kim Strauss and Natasha Cotterell over Yzelle Greyling and Jennifer Duncan.

The competition last Wednesday was won by Dr Ayoob Bux on 40 points, by three from Ganes Munsami on 37 points, who counted out Mark Smith.
Business day last Friday, sponsored by Van Zyl, Retief Inc. was won on 87 points by George Bowie, Johann du Plessis, Howard Crouch and Jimmy Adamson.

Runners-up were Tom Pearson, Sheldon van der Merwe, Allan Rowley and Ian Stewart on 84 points, one ahead of Terry McGovern, Allan Clark, Eddie Ringo and Ryan Ringo.

And the crowd goes wild…. Natasha Cotterell and Kim Strauss are congratulated on winning the Frans Suzanne trophy.

The Ten Cup Series played last Saturday was won on 43 points by Johann and Hendrik Janse van Rensburg.
Runners-up were Dr Ayoob Bux and Ganes Munsami on 42 points, counting out Wesley Scholtz and Korah MacAllistair.
Nearest the pins were Gerald Koch (5th), Theo van Rooyen (8th), Martin Otto (14th) and Paul Tedder (17th).
Longest drive on the 18th was struck by Koran MacAllistair.

The Wozani Par 3 competition last Sunday attracted a field of 30 players, with club captain Howard Crouch designing the course.
Winners on 46 points were Johann Janse van Rensburg and Vleis Visagie.

Runners-up were Kreeson and Kiara Naicker, followed by Eddie Ringo and Gareth Olivant.

Nearest the pins were Morgan McMillan (1st), Stryda Perry (5th), Dwaine Dewinnaar (9th) and Rudi Coetzee (18th).

Nearest for two were Howard Crouch (7th) and Brennan Raymond (13th).

Rudi Coetzee won the MakMoer trophy on the 18th.
