Eagles land at Selborne

The latest Village Eagles golf news and results.

For the Village Eagles, a lovely morning was recently had at Selborne Golf Club, with great weather for golf.

The course was still wet in places, but conditions were good. Thanks to all the staff.

The Eagles had 64 players, with a lost ball count of 186. Patrick Poole’s estimate was the closest – well done.

Best lady was Vanessa Bailey on 28 individual points, and Rob Binnekade took the men’s prize on 38 points.

The winners on the day were Rob Binnekade, Neville Lloyd, Keith Findlay and Pearl Lloyd on an alliance score of 90 points.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy were Ian Baird, Harry Podmore, Dave Whitfield and Jimmy Wilson on 45 points.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Eddie Mathews.

On the fines side, Derek Hodge was the master, and this was well-supported.

A big thank you to the sponsors without whom this day would not have been possible and as enjoyable.

The next game will be held at Umkomaas Golf Club on May 6. See you all there.
