Wet course does not deter Eagles

The latest Village Eagles news and results.

Umdoni Park Golf Course was the venue for the Village Eagles on March 4.

There were 56 Eagles in attendance. The course was wet; however, it was still in immaculate condition. A special thanks to the staff of Umdoni Park for providing everyone with the privilege of competing. The weather also played its part.

Best Lady was Michelle van der Merwe on 36 individual points, and Peter Braithwaite took the men’s prize on 41 points. The winners on the day were Peter Braithwaite, Les Vince, Alistair Eyres, and yours truly, Stan Sim, on an alliance score of 91 points on a count out.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy were Colin McCall-Peat, Eddie Matthews, Tony Butler and Denis Middlemiss on 74 points. The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Eyres.

Derek Hodge presented the fines, which were well-supported. Eddie Mathews presented the results. Thanks to the sponsors, which make the Village Eagles golf day special and enjoyable.

The next game will be at Selbourne Golf Club on April 1. See you all there.
