Great golfing for Eagles in Umkomaas

The next game will be held at Scottburgh Golf Club on June 3.

The Village Eagles Golf Club played at the Umkomaas Golf Course on May 6.

The golf course was still wet and as a result they played the short course twice – thanks to the efforts of staff to make this possible.

Sixty players were in attendance on a lovely morning. The lost ball count was a low 48, and the prize went to Clive Melville for his estimate.

Best lady was Stella Scott with 47 individual points and Barry Ainslie took the men’s prize on 41 points. The winners on the day were Sam Dwyer, Harry Podmore, Barrie Ainslie and Steffi Podmore on an alliance score of 96 points.

They also had Derek McKechnie shoot a hole-in-one of the par 3 fourth hole – well done Derek.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy were Robert Symons, Eddie Matthews and Dave Whitfield on 76 points.

Longest Day went to Robert Symons and Eddie Matthews. Absent: Dave Whitfield.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Eyers. Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch. On the fines side, Jeremy Boyd was the master and this was well supported. We thank our sponsors for making this an enjoyable day.
