Fierce competition at Umkomaas sports tournament
The Bodasingh Cup not only celebrated sporting excellence, but also fostered camaraderie, school spirit and community pride.
The annual Bodasingh Cup recently hosted at Umkomaas Primary proved to be a resounding success, drawing in enthusiastic support from learners, teachers and parents.
The tournament brought together four schools – Drift, Naidooville, Umkomaas and Naidoo Memorial primary schools to compete in soccer and netball.
The day was filled with exhilarating matches and fierce competition, showcasing the remarkable talent and determination of young athletes.
In the netball final, Drift Primary edged out Umkomaas Primary in a nail-biting encounter, securing a 9–7 victory.
On the soccer field, defending champions Naidoo Memorial Primary once again stamped their authority. In a hard-fought battle, they overcame Naidooville Primary 2–0 to retain the coveted Bodasingh Cup.
Naidoo Memorial Primary extended its gratitude to all coaches, learners and parents who made the tournament possible.
Special thanks were expressed to Devan Nair for providing the school facilities and to Preetha Bodasingh for gracing the event.
