Gavin Sole to captain Mid-Ams at San Lameer
The selection came after the KZN Mid Am champs at Selborne Park Golf Club recently.
Gavin Sole and Jean-Marc Bouic, both members at Southbroom Golf Club, have again been selected for the KZN Mid-Amateur golf team.
The team will do battle in the South African Mid-Amateur IPT at San Lameer Country Club from October 5-9.
Gavin will captain the team at a venue he loves and at which he has had much success.
Jan McDermott (Umdoni Park) is the third Southern KZN player to gain selection.
The other players are Kalvin van Rensburg (Toti), Grant Olivier (Drak Gardens), Gitesh Maharaj (Toti), Clayton Mansfield (Mount Edgecombe CC) and Greg Smith (Simbithi).
Wynand de Swardt is the manager.
The selection came after the KZN Mid Am champs at Selborne Park Golf Club last Sunday.
The winner was Jaco Meyer (Irene CC) on scores of 69 and 73. He won by one from Marthin Scheepers (Akasia GC), who had 72 and 71.
Former Margate CC player Andrew Curlewis, now at Silver Lakes, was third on 74 and 71.
Best of the Southern KZN players was Gavin Sole (Southbroom) on 74 and 73.
Jan McDermott (Umdoni Park) was 12th on 79 and 74. Jean-Marc Bouic (Southbroom) was 15th on 76 and 79.
Selborne Park golfers Marno Langeveldt (80 and 76) and Tiaan Bekker (74 and 82) tied for 18th.
