Two of Ugu Karate’s up-and-coming development athletes attended the recent KSA Development Championships and Women’s Cup in Cape Town.
The KSA Development Championships is aimed at athletes who are of coloured belt status and considered up-and-coming, before reaching elite level.
The competition was held jointly with the KSA Elite Women’s Cup to commemorate Women’s Month.
Eldon Potgieter received a gold medal in his 16/17 kumite division.
Anje Pieterse, although not gaining a medal, received invaluable experience participating at a national tournament.
Ugu Karate is proud of both athletes for their hard work and in representing the Ugu region so well.
