HIBBERDENE
The Hibberdene Pharmacy drawn mixed trips on January 16 were won by Rienie Blignault, Kish and Maureen du Toit.
In second place were Charmaine van der Westhuizen, Floppie du Toit and Bubbles Bezuidenhout.
Session went to Brian Mertz, Richard Dunn and Amanda Boucher.
Next competition is the Warwick Wealth nominated mixed trips this Friday at 14:00.
The club held its annual prize-giving function on January 15. Winners of the various competitions were: Estelle Quinn (ladies handicap singles, best ladies performer 2025), Alex Bukes (men’s singles handicap, men pairs, best men’s performer 2025), Brian Mertz (men’s pairs), Robert Singery (men’s singles plate), Steff Dahlman (men’s open singles), Hester Boshoff (ladies novices), Luke Pohl (mix pairs), Maureen du Toit (ladies singles plate comp, ladies pairs), Melinda Gordon (most valuable female member not on committee), Gawie Gordon (most valuable male member not on committee), Alida Munnik (ladies open singles), Albert Munnik (101 mix singles).

SOUTHBROOM
Winning the JL Panelbeaters’ men’s fours at Southbroom on January 16 were last year’s overall winners Mike Thompson, Ron Weddell, Ross Ferguson and André Maulgue.
Runners-up were Glenn Hatfield, Cleve Walker, Ian Hunter and Tony Waters.
In third place were Rhett Butler, Hylton Cannon, Dave Campbell and Chris Faber.
Southbroom president Cleve Walker thanked JL Panelbeaters for sponsoring the competition for the tenth year in a row.
Year three of the Hibiscus Brokers SuperTrips will commence on Thursday, January 29, with an astonishing 60 teams taking part at five venues.
Following the highly successful introduction last year of Munster, which joined the founders Southbroom, Margate and Riverside, Banners Rest has now also come aboard.
Teams from as far north as The Bell and Hibberdene have entered the year-long competition in which strength plays strength after the randomly drawn opening round.
Each player plays six ends as skip, second and lead.
Hibiscus Brokers has generously pooled its previous sponsorship of individual clubs into the SuperTrips pool which has resulted in extremely attractive prize-money.

MARGATE
The Uvongo Spar pairs played on January 14 was won by Nicky and Dale Riddle.
Runners-up were Ken Tonge and Yvonne Bausek. Lucky draw was won by Paul Hare.
The Ken Tonge ladies’ trips on January 16 was won by Pauline Dunlop, Anthea Bratby and Wilma Visagie.
Runners-up were Bertha Lane, Ann Waugh and Elsa Lourens.
Session prize went to Martie de Beer, Wilma Swanepoel and Retha Soden
Lucky draw was won by Wilma Swanepoel.
The VW Sunsational drawn pairs on January 18 was won by Roy Deakon and Chippy Louw.
Runners-up were Moira Faure and Patrick Pillay.
First session winners were Johan du Preez and Stephan van der Merwe.
Second session winners were Dave van As and Mark Jenkins.

TWENI
The Oribi Plaza Wimpy ladies’ pairs was won by Tammy Gibbons and Rienie Blignaut.
Runners-up were Lindie Samuels and Lesley Rogers.
Session prize went to Charmaine van der Westhuizen and Alida Munnik.
Winners of the 3rd Avenue/The Meat Joint mixed fours on January 19 were Albert Munnik, Alida Munnik, Bubbles Bezuidenhout and Bez Bezuidenhout. Runners-up were Tammy Gibbons, Rienie Blignault, Frik van Rensburg and John Keevil.
Session prize went to Peter Storm, Mariki Bothma, Zac Graham and Annetjie van der Merwe.

VILLAGE
Winning the Hibiscus Insurance Brokers open trips on January 15 were Glenn Hatfield, Vernon Clements and Glyn Evans.
Runners-up were Annette Payne, Manny Rodrigues and Mervyn Barratt.
First session went to Johan du Preez, Jeanne Gregori and Mo Karani; second session to Donnovan Mulder, Norman Davies and Louis Heystek.
