Big shop at Port Shepstone Mall for trolley dash winners
Shoppers had to spend R500 or more to be eligible to enter.
Two trolley dash winners had a blast racing through Shoprite and Boxer supermarkets at the Port Shepstone Mall on August 6.
Hosted by the mall, shoppers had to spend R500 or more and drop their receipts into a competition box to qualify.
As it’s Women’s Month, two lucky women, Nomcebo Nzimakhwe from Gamalakhe and Winnie Memela from St Faiths raced among the aisles and against the clock to grab as many free items as they could in 60 seconds.
The first trolley dash was at Shoprite, and Nomcebo didn’t waste any time grabbing much-needed items valued at R3000.
Winnie enjoyed her dash at Boxer and also filled her trolley with goods valued at R3000.
Both winners said they had fun and thanked the mall for hosting the competition.
Nomcebo, a self-employed student, said she shopped at the mall on June 30.
“It was my first trolley dash, and wow, I had so much fun. Sixty seconds goes so fast, but at the end, the items I managed to get were much needed,” said Nomcebo.
Winnie, who runs a mobile kitchen, said she made a purchase on July 6 and the items she picked were also much needed to help her out in her mobile kitchen.
The mall’s Tanya Draai thanked shoppers for entering the competition.
